Dr. Lott tournament action starts Monday

Local kids, parents and families enjoyed a great night of baseball games at Dr. Lott Field Friday. Several teams were looking do some fine tuning for the playoffs as some teams were still fighting for a good playoff position as the regular season came to an end Friday night.

Tournament action for Dr. Lott’s League will start Monday for the Coach-Pitch League and the Little League.

In the Coach-Pitch division, Williams Mortuary battles Annie Sanders at 6 p.m. and PK’s takes on Smith 84E Carwash at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round.

In Little League action, Tyler battles Summit/McComb Bluejays at 6 p.m. and Elks Lodges tangle with Magnolia Graphics at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round on the other field.

This tournament is scheduled to last all week long as teams battle in a double elimination contest. The championship game is slated for Friday starting at 6 p.m.

Dr. Lott program director Roy Smith also announced that the tournament play for the Softball League and the Pony League will start Monday, July 21, under the same double-elimination format.
