Union eliminates Enterprise

UNION – The Union Lady Yellowjackets captured a pair of victories Thursday night and eliminated the Enterprise Lady Jackets from the first round of the Class 2A state playoff race in softball action.

Union blanked Enterprise 9-0 in Game One and edged the Lincoln County-based Jackets 6-4 in Game Two.

The Enterprise Lady Jackets, coached by Ashley Jones, concluded their season with a 5-13 record overall and finished 4-4 in district play.

Union 9, Enterprise 0 

In Game One, Union dominated Enterprise in six innings of action.

Haley Nations (2K, 4BB) and Carley Nations (3K, 3BB) suffered the setback in a combined effort on the mound for Enterprise.

Haley Nations was the top hitter for the Lincoln County-based Lady Jackets with a single.

Union 6, Enterprise 4 

In Game Two, Enterprise and Union provided an exciting game for their softball fans as both teams battled hard in a defensive contest.

Union quickly set the tone early in the first inning by grabbing a 3-0 lead, but Enterprise rallied back to tie it at 3-all in the top of the third inning.

Union managed to outscore Enterprise 2-1 in the final four inning of action to secure the sweep.

Kalyn Chemin absorbed the setback on the mound for Enterprise with two strikeouts and six walks.

Jana Nation was the offensive leader at the plate for the Lincoln County-based Lady Jacket with two doubles and two singles. Kinsey Dahlin and Haley Nations hit safely.
