ACKERMAN -DeMartre Collins and Hoby Mullins powered the Bullbogs with some big hits as Franklin County blanked Choctaw County Chargers 6-0 to sweep the Class 3A opening series.

The Bulldogs advance to play Sumrall Thursday at Sumrall.

Collins recorded three singles and grabbed a stolen base to aid the Bulldogs attack. Mullins added a double and a single.

Winning pitcher Derrick Brumfield collected the win on the mound. At the plate Brumfield ripped two singles.

FC scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back. The Bulldogs crafty defense helped the team gain the shutout.
