Funeral services for Garry Jevonn Alexander of Bentonia are 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Willie Mae Tyler Memorial Chapel with burial in Eight Street Cemetery, in Picayune. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, April 18, 2014, from noon until 6 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Alexander, 36, died April 14, 2014, at his residence. He was born on April 19, 1977, in Hattiesburg to Louis H. Alexander and Dorothy L. Alexander.

He received his formal education from the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, and the Brookhaven Public Schools. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Alcorn State University, Lorman, majoring in health, physical education and recreation. He was an educator, employed with the Yazoo City School District.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Louis and Myrtis Alexander; his maternal grandfather, Charlie Logan; and his father, Louis Alexander.

Survivors are his mother, Dorothy Logan Alexander of Bogue Chitto; three sisters; three brothers; his maternal grandmother, Denotra Logan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
