East Marion surprises Enterprise

The Enterprise Yellow Jackets suffered a tough 2-1 loss to the East Marion Eagles Tuesday night in Region 8-2A baseball action.

The Jackets’ loss created a three-way tie between West Lincoln, Loyd Star and Enterprise for the first place, but all three schools have clinched a playoff berth.

Enterprise (9-9, 7-2) will be in action today as they prepare to travel to Columbia to take the Eagles for a crucial contest. Junior varsity action starts at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

East Marion 2, Enterprise 1 

East Marion threw a big monkey wrench in the region contest Tuesday night as they handed the Jackets their second straight home loss.

Davean Jefferson was the winning pitcher for the Eagles with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Jackson Cole suffered the setback for the Jackets with 16 strikeouts and one loss.

Josh Hardin and Austin Fuller were the top sluggers for Enterprise with two singles. Max Miller and Lane Boyd contributed a single apiece.

East Marion was led at the plate by Jaylin Akins, Charlie James, Anthony Ingram, Jarveon Howard and Jefferson with a single apiece.
