An area gospel music group is releasing its fourth CD this Easter weekend.

Soul Fire Acappella Gospel Singers’ new album, “Oh! Lord Jesus It’s A Fire,” has more than 10 songs and four dramatized skits, with multiple original songs written and/or arranged by group member Larry Brown.

“This CD is special to us because we had originally planned on recording in Hattiesburg at Studio 3, but through networking and social media we were able to find a recording studio right here in Brookhaven,” Brown said.

The new album is the group’s fourth CD project. “The new CD is not just a singing CD, I like to call it Gospel Entertainment,” Brown said. “It will not only give you songs, but it tells a story and adds that ‘something extra’ to your listening experience. I believe this CD has something for everybody – children, adults and senior citizens.”

Kermit Sartin Sr., former Brookhaven political candidate and owner of 1055 Music Studio, served as recorder and master mixer for the album. “Mr. Sartin has taken our vision for the CD and brought it to life,” Brown said. “Although this was our first time working with 1055 Music Studio, the experience has been great.”

Brown said as an added bonus, the group’s last album, “Y.U.P. (Yearning for Unlimited Praise),” and the new CD can be purchased and digitally downloaded at www.iwaveradio.com or www.nomusicmusic.com. The new CD will go on sale starting this Saturday.

“Unfortunately, right now a physical copy of the CD can only be purchased from any one of the members of the group,” Brown said.

Last summer, Soul Fire traveled to Dallas, Texas, where the group received the raising star award from the American Acappella Achievement Foundation. Another highlight of last year was performing as the gospel finale at the Ole Brook Festival last fall.

The Soul Fire singers recently celebrated their eighth anniversary as a group Feb. 4 and look forward to many more years ahead.
