Funeral services for Herbert “Abair” Turner of Ruth are 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 5 until 9 p.m. and will resume Monday morning at 8 a.m. until time of service at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.

Mr. Turner, 61, died April 10, 2014, at his camp in Wilkinson County. He was born on Sept. 4, 1952, in Bunkey, La., to William Turner and Edna Charddier Turner.

He was a retired truck driver, having formerly worked for Acy’s Trucking.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Willie Turner and Dewayne Turner; stepson, Joseph Rayburn; step-grandson, Deston Rayburn; mother-in-law, Marion Rayburn; and brother-in-law, Carl Rayburn Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Vickie Turner of Ruth; one daughter, Nicole Cannon of Bogue Chitto; three grandchildren, Gavin, Jayden, and Kale Cannon; one brother, William Turner Jr. of Ruth; nephew, Michael Turner of Marksville, La.; great-niece, Kelsey Turner; great-nephews, Chris and Tyler Turner all of Marksville; four step-children, Tracy Billiot of Ruth, Torrie Rutland and husband, Mark, of Ruth, Jeremy Rayburn and wife, Jennifer, of Jayess and Stacey Rayburn and wife, Candy, of West Lincoln; and 12 step-grandchildren.
