Lincoln County Circuit Clerk Dustin Bairfield is to be commended for his continuing work getting county records online.

Recently, after the completion of county redistricting, Bairfield’s office placed the new county district maps and voter registration information on the circuit clerk’s website.

In addition, a total of 22,354 voter registration cards will go from the post office Monday as a result of the redistricting of county supervisors’ districts. Although only 2,543 of those voters have changed district lines or voting locations, a new voter registration card is being sent to every voter in the county.

Voters who have not received a card by Friday should call the circuit clerk’s office at (601) 835-3435.

To access online information from the circuit clerk’s office, citizens should go to lincolncircuitcourt.com. For voting information, then scroll down to the “Voter Precincts” link on the left side of the screen.

After clicking on the link, voters will see four links from which to choose: “County Precinct Map, “City of Brookhaven Precinct Map, “Voter Precinct Lookup” and “Voter Registration.”

The precinct lookup link takes voters to a screen where they can enter their city, house number and street name. This will provide access to information about the voter’s precinct locations. Details about the voter’s school district, supervisor’s district, justice court district, constable’s district and legislative districts also are included.

The website access to voting information is part of Bairfield’s continuing work getting county records online. Access is possible from a computer, smart phone or tablet.

The voter registration link allows access to a downloadable form that can be printed, filled out and mailed to the circuit clerk’s office.

The new online voting information is a great help to citizens who already use the Internet for so many other tasks each day. The new online links at the county’s websites are adding to other useful information that has previously been uploaded by Bairfield and other county officials

We encourage the continued work placing county information online and look forward to seeing even more of our public records being made available on the local government sites.
