MEADVILLE – Tylertown scored three runs in the top of the first inning and that was enough to collect a 3-2 victory Tuesday evening at Shortstop Fields in Meadville over the FC Lady Bulldogs in area softball action.

Franklin High plays host to Wesson Thursday at 5 p.m.

Tylertown used some crafty pitching from Gee Holmes to collect the win. Holmes struck out seven and walked two.

In what became a pitchers dual between FC hurler Harley McKay and Holmes, runs were few and far between. The Lady Chiefs led 3-0 after one inning of play, before FC scored two runs in the bottom half of the sixth.

For FC, Emilee Wallace absorbed the loss despite only pitching a 1/3 of an inning. McKay struck out six in six innings of relief.

At the plate, Macy Ziskin led all batters with two singles and a double. Hayle McKinney added two doubles.

Holmes led Tylertown with two singles at the plate.
