BASSFIELD – The Bassfield Lady Yellowjackets relied on their home court advantage to eliminate the West Lincoln Lady Bears 47-22 Tuesday night in the opening round of the Region 7-2A Tournament.

“We did not come ready to play,” said West Lincoln coach Lane Young. “This was the worst game we have played all year. Normally, we are very competitive no matter what, but tonight we were not competitive.”

The Lady Bears concluded their season with a 5-21 worksheet overall.

Bassfield 47, West Lincoln 22 

The Lady Yellowjackets used their quickness and strong aggressive play to disrupt West Lincoln’s patience offensive game plan in the first quarter to take a 8-1 lead and continued to increase the pressure on the Lady Bears to grab a commanding 18-8 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Bassfield thumped the Lady Bears 29-11 to secure the win.

Sophomore guard Alli Mullins was the top-scoring leader for West Lincoln with 7 points. Senior forward Heather Moak contributed 5 points. Senior Bentley Sills paced the Lady Bears on the boards with 6 rebounds. Hanna Moak had 5 rebounds.

Malexus Loftin pumped in a game-high double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Lady Yellowjackets. Nicole Maye chipped in with 11 points and had 7 rebounds.
