SALEM – The BA Lady Cougars traveled down Highway 27 and prepared for a catfight with the Salem Lady Wildcats, and that is what they got.

It took an overtime frame, but the Lady Cougars escaped with a 50-48 hard-fought win. Mary Claire White’s fall-away jumper off the glass with less than :15 seconds to play gave the Lady Cougars the lead and a solid defensive stand on the other end sealed the victory.

In boys’ action, the Wildcats handed the Cougars their second loss of the season with a 59-50 win Tuesday night.
