The Loyd Star Hornets and the Enterprise Lady Jackets split their games in junior high basketball action Monday night in Loyd Star gymnasium.

The Hornets (5-0)  returned from the holiday break to claim a 38-25 victory over the Enterprise Jackets

Loyd Star was led in scoring by Dane Smith with 18 points. Patrick Price and Zabian Price contributed seven points apiece.

Jontavious Smith paced the Jackets with 14 points.

In the girls game, The Lady Jackets surpassed the Lady Hornets 29-12.

Jana Nations was the top scorer for Enterprise with 10 points.

Katie West directed Loyd Stars’ scorers with nine points.

In seventh grade action,  the Hornets squeezed past Enterprise 30-23. Dane Smith provided the offensive punch to lead Loyd Star with 10 points. Brent Cade had nine points.

Jontavious Smith led the Jackets with 11 points.

In girls action, the Lady Hornets secured a 21-16 win over the Lady Jackets.

Andrea Butler paced the Lady Hornets with nine points. Megan Poole chipped in six points.

Breyuanna Johnson led the Lady Jackets with 10 points.
