Lady Bears crush Pisgah

The West Lincoln Lady Bears crushed the Pisgah Lady Dragons 11-1 Thursday night in slowpitch softball action.

The Lady Bears (11-5-1, 3-0) continue action Saturday. They will travel to Richland to participate in the Richland Lady Rangers’ softball tournament. West Lincoln battles Pearl at 11:30 a.m., Richland at 2:30 p.m. and Vicksburg at 5 p.m.

The Lady Bears quickly took care of business as they over-powered the Lady Dragons at the plate and on the field. West Lincoln out hit Pisgah 16-3 to claimed the victory in six innings of work.

Heather Moak was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears with one strikeout and three walks.

Britney Shoemaker took the loss for Pisgah with no strikeouts and one walk.

Senior left-center fielder Destiny Allen provided the offensive spark to lead West Lincoln with a home run, a double and a single. Layton Sills, Hanna Moak, Bentley Sills and Karley Smith fueled the flames with a pair of singles apiece. Alli Mullins contributed a double. Hitting safely were Malori Hall, Brianna Fauver, Micah Redd and Heather Moak.

The Lady Dragons were led offensively by A.G. Stewart, Sarah Cole and Savannah Dillard with a single apiece.

In JV action, West Lincoln beat Pisgah 5-2.

Anna Brooke Davis and Millane Lewis paced the Lady Bears’ offense with a double and a single. Addie Spring had a triple. Peyton White, Cadie Maxwell, Brittney Hill and Sara Jane Doty hit safely.
