Funeral services for Vertis Marie Jones of Brookhaven are noon on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Friendship M.B. Church, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Jones, 66, died Aug 14, 2013 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. She was born in McCall Creek on Oct. 29, 1946.
